Bahco Bypass Loppers - P16-50

The Bahco Bypass Loppers P16-50 are designed for cutting live wood. The loppers are commonly used for pruning and training all sorts of vines. This 20" long Bypass Lopper's cutting blade slides past a forged counterblade in a scissor motion, and that's where the term "bypass" comes into effect. The pivot bolt is offset from the lopper's natural centerline. This permits a slicing motion during the cutting, aiding in the pruning of live wood and spreads the wear over a larger area of the blade for an increased life expectancy.

The counterblade's hook shape on the lopper allow for a larger cutting diameter and will hold branches steady during cutting. The sap groove lessens the contact area between the counterblade and the blade, and this results in less friction and sticking.
